The project was developed in collaboration with the Uniting Care Community Sunshine Coast.
The story follows a similar premise as Escape from the Desert, placing the reader as the protagonist as they follow a series of clues left behind from each member of the friendship group to help find their way back to their mob.
Focus groups were held with children and elders from Uniting Care Community Sunshine Coast’s local Aboriginal community to seek feedback on changes that were made, including updated language, character design and locations.
